Survived the City of God!

Survived though I note that the police box 30 seconds from my hostel is peppered with bullet holes and has a wreath freshly laid. TV cameras were recording reports there this afternoon, so I presume it was one of the places hit the night before last. When I was wandering about on my own. Gulp.

On a more positive note, the build-up to New Years is in full swing. There were bands playing on Ipanema beach this afternoon, and John Legend sound-checking on an enormous stage at one end.
